Welcome to Bad Liebenstein Zoo
Idyllically situated in the middle of the city of Bad Liebenstein on the edge of the Elisabeth Park, below the castle ruins, you will find the zoo, which was created in many years of devoted work. It invites you to stroll and linger. The park accommodates on its 5 ha large area about 60 species and about 300 animals, starting from A like alpaca to Z like dwarf marmoset.
In addition to the South American House, a terrarium awaits you, as well as a flamingo aviary, clawed monkeys, laughing Hans (kookaburra) and other animal species. You won't find elephants, rhinos, tigers and other large and predatory animals there, but plenty of smaller species not kept in every zoo, such as the coelacanth.
The zoo in Bad Liebenstein has a playground for the children. The new entrance building provides toilets as well as a baby changing facility. Snacks, coffee and soft drinks are available at vending machines in the park. For a small fee, dogs, kept on a short leash, have access to the zoo.
Photography in the houses is allowed only without flash.
