Welcome to
We invite you on your personal journey of discovery through our wildlife park!
Whether it's fallow deer, eagle owls, wild boar or perch, you can discover around 30 native animal species in our 22-hectare wildlife park. And discovering is to be understood literally, because we don't see our animals as exhibits. Rather, you have to go on a journey of discovery and are therefore all the more pleased when you get to see an animal. In this way, every visit is an exciting exploration for young and old. But not only in the enclosures or in the cold water aquarium you can observe animals with us. Walk with open eyes through one of the most pristine vegetations of Schleswig-Holstein and look out for forest ants, squirrels or greenfinches, for example. Listen to the pond frogs at Grundlosen Kolk - a moor lake - or discover how the male moor frogs turn blue during the mating season in spring. If you are with your children, visit our two playgrounds. Your children will have a great time while you prepare your picnic or enjoy a snack in our restaurant.A park for allIt is important to us that all people - regardless of their income - can visit our wildlife park. Therefore, your visit to us is free of charge, but not free of charge. You can imagine that it costs a lot of money to maintain a wildlife park. So if you like it here, please support us from time to time with a donation or a membership in our support association. The wildlife park is open for you around the clock , every day of the week. So you can enjoy our small but beautiful park at any time alone, with friends or your family. Please note, however, that you cannot take your dog with you into the park. Unfortunately, we have had very bad experiences with this. Exceptions to this are, of course, designated assistance dogs.Natural animal husbandry and biodiversityOur animals are breeds from other parks or raised foundlings that can no longer be released into the wild. They should feel comfortable with us. Therefore, our animals live in spacious enclosures designed as close to nature as possible. However, there are still old facilities, which we modernize step by step, in order to do justice to our claim towards the animals. Don't be surprised if there is a decaying tree trunk in one place or another in the wildlife park. Dead wood is a valuable habitat for many animals, plants, fungi, and lichens, making it an important part of the forest. By deliberately leaving dead wood lying around, we promote biodiversity. It is not least this diversity that we work with in our environmental education programs. You can download the map of our wildlife park here. We look forward to seeing you!
