Munich's Hellabrunn Zoo, founded in 1911, is not only one of the most renowned scientifically managed zoos in Europe, but also the first geo-zoo in the world. Situated in the middle of the Isar floodplain nature reserve, it offers its visitors a natural environment that comes as close as possible to the animals' natural habitats. The animals live here in conditions that are as similar as possible to their natural habitats, providing a unique experience for visitors. One of the outstanding features of the zoo is the gigantic aviary, which was commissioned in 1980. It covers a large area of 5,000 square meters and reaches a height of 18 meters. This architectural masterpiece provides the birds with an almost natural environment and allows visitors to observe the birds in an environment that is as close to their natural one as possible. Another notable feature of the zoo is the free rental of electric vehicles for visitors with reduced mobility. This service underlines the zoo's commitment to inclusion and accessibility and allows all visitors to experience the diversity and beauty of the animal world. The zoo is also easily accessible thanks to a direct subway connection, making the visit even more enjoyable.
