Welcome to Heiligenkirchen Bird Park
Over 1000 birds and mammals from 300 different species from all over the world await you in large aviaries and open-air enclosures in the well-kept Heiligenkirchen Bird Park. From the largest bird, the helmeted cassowary, to the smallest chicken in the world - with chicks the size of a bumblebee - everything is represented. You can also see pelicans, storks, cranes, peacocks, toucans and rare hornbills, as well as monkeys, prairie dogs, kangaroos and the elephant's little brother.
The biggest attraction is a petting meadow for parrots, where you can get up close and personal with amazons, macaws and cockatoos. The parakeet and small parrot aviary offers up-close animal experiences. The birds will eat out of your hand while a kangaroo hops past. You can see and experience the beauties of the African fauna up close in our walk-in African enclosure. In the rearing station, you can watch chicken chicks hatch and every day at 12.00 and 16.00 the baby parrots are fed here. Every day at 3 p.m., you can join the zookeeper at feeding time and even feed them yourself.
Guided tours for school classes of all ages, kindergarten tours and children's birthday parties are available by appointment.
There is a large adventure playground and two cozy coffee terraces on the grounds.
