Welcome to Cottbus Zoo
With 25 hectares, Cottbus zoo is the largest in the state of Brandenburg. Located directly on the River Spree, between Branitz Park (Pueckler Park) and Spreeauenpark, the zoo is truly idyllic and has more than 1,300 animals that are well worth seeing. From alligator to zebra – here you can experience the diversity of 6 continents with over 170 species, including elephants, leopards, monkeys, tapirs and an abundance of wading birds and waterfowl. One particularly interesting section is the amply-sized open-air tiger enclosure.
The large petting zoo is especially popular with children, and there are also playgrounds that are ideal for letting off steam, climbing and swinging. During the demonstration feeding sessions with commentary, visitors can learn a lot about the animals. Meanwhile the Zoo School offers fascinating outdoor biology lessons: discover, observe, hear, smell and touch – the zoo as a classroom.
The zoo restaurant is open all year round from 9 a.m. There is plenty of parking available at the entrance area. Free lockable bicycle boxes are provided.
