Welcome to Alsdorf Zoo
The Alsdorfer Weiher zoo is located in the middle of the Broichbachtal recreational area. Covering an area of more than 20 hectares, it is home to around 300 animals, consisting of 30 predominantly native species, and the entire area of the zoo and the adjoining recreational area, including the ponds, extend over an area of more than 30 hectares.
Alsdorf Zoo is one of the few zoological facilities in Germany and the only one in the Euregio that allows everyone to visit the zoo and leisure park free of charge. There is only a parking fee of 2 euros for the whole day for a parking lot in the immediate vicinity. This fee is for the exclusive benefit of the animals.
The zoo is open around the clock. The animal park is complemented by many other attractions within the recreational area, from adventure playgrounds, which are great fun for children, to spacious sunbathing lawns that provide the opportunity for a cozy picnic, to a boat rental that invites you to take a rowing trip on the pond. The restaurant, café and beer garden in the Broichtal house also provide for your physical well-being.
