Welcome to Eisenberg ZooThe
former garden of the Eisenberg factory owner Felix Geyer, with its rare trees and artificial ruins, is now home to a zoo that is well worth a visit. Around 720 animals of 44 different species live here on an area of approx. 2.5 hectares. The zoo exhibits African animals, Australian animals, native forest dwellers and the world's smallest pets. In keeping with the motto "On a first-name basis with the animals", petting and feeding the animals with the zoo's own food is expressly encouraged. Visitors can visit the kangaroos, the African pets, the fallow deer and the farm animals in their enclosures. A 400 square meter walk-in Australian free-flight aviary for Australian parakeets, which is home to around 300 birds, was opened in 2011. In this enclosure you can experience Bubi and Co. up close.
As a visitor, you will learn lots of interesting facts about the animals on display and their habitat. A real gem is the newly designed walk-in farm with many small and large domestic animals. Shaggy ponies, trusting pot-bellied pigs, a colorful cow and all kinds of domestic fowl populate our farm. There is also a zoo school for primary school classes, where pets and domestic animals are taught in theory and practice in 90-minute lessons. The latest attraction is a track for electric vehicles, "The Outback Rally". Fun for young and old.
