Animal parks in Saxony
Animal park
Zittauer-Straße 43, 02826 Görlitz
A beautiful 5-hectare park is home to around 500 animals of 110 species. Red pandas and otters, among others, live in near-natural enclosures. The nature conservation zoo sees its most important tasks as providing intensive and emotional experiences between humans and animals and preserving endangered species and nature. Walk-through enclosures open up new perspectives for visitors. An adventure trail and various feeding stations in the "Lausitz Valley" offer insights close to the animals. At the Upper Lusatian farm, you can brush goats, cuddle piglets and alpacas and feed chicks with home-grated carrots. A highlight is the Tibetan village, unique in Germany, with authentically recreated houses and Tibetan animals. The discovery barn and themed playgrounds, such as the UNESCO award-winning pet playground, are not only fun, they also encourage playful exploration of topics such as globalization and sustainability.
