Welcome to America Limbach-Oberfrohna Zoo

The facilities are grouped around the picturesque, so-called "Dreierlenteich" pond, where animals from various groups of the animal kingdom can be observed. Opened in 1959, the zoo currently houses 300 animals of 71 species and breeds. Special attractions include "Flamingoland", which was completed in 2013, and "Penguinland", which opened in 2016. These are two state-of-the-art enclosures for South American marsh and water birds and South American shorebirds, which are accessible to visitors. In "Penguinland" there are two feeding sessions with commentary (approx. 10.00 a.m. and approx. 3.00 p.m.). A playground and petting zoo as well as the small Indian village offer children a welcome change and guarantee a relaxing and interesting stay. Once a year, a children's festival is held at the Amerika Tierpark.
